Taytay and El Nido share a border, so this is the shortest of the mainland corridors we quote and the final stretch of the northbound highway up from Puerto Princesa. It matters more than its length suggests, because it is the leg for everyone whose Palawan trip does not start in the city: coming ashore from an island resort in Taytay Bay, landing at Taytay’s own airfield, or breaking the long northbound drive at the fort before carrying on to Bacuit Bay. Plan the route correctly

  • Both towns are on mainland Palawan and the two municipalities share a border — Taytay is bounded by El Nido to the north — so this is a road transfer on the same national highway that runs up from Puerto Princesa, not a boat or a flight.
  • It is often the second half of a longer day rather than a trip of its own. A northbound run from Puerto Princesa can stop at Fuerza de Santa Isabel in Taytay town and carry on to El Nido in the same vehicle, instead of being booked as two separate transfers.
  • If you are coming off an island, the road leg starts at the jetty. The resorts out in Taytay Bay, including Apulit Island, are reached by boat from the mainland, so the vehicle is timed to the crossing that brings you ashore rather than to a clock.
  • Taytay has its own airfield — Cesar Lim Rodriguez Airport, commonly called Taytay Airport (IATA: RZP), in Barangay Sandoval. An RZP arrival can be met and driven straight north. El Nido has Lio Airport (ENI), so include the airport code whenever you share a flight and we will quote the right end.
  • The reverse direction works as a day trip. From an El Nido base we quote the southbound run to Taytay with the driver waiting while you visit the fort, then the return north the same day.
  • Tell us which end of the day is fixed — a boat coming ashore, a flight, or a hotel check-in — and the pickup is worked back from it instead of guessed.

Is there a road between Taytay and El Nido?

Yes. The two municipalities share a border on mainland Palawan — Taytay is bounded by El Nido to the north — and the national highway running north from Puerto Princesa passes through Taytay on its way to El Nido. It is a road transfer, not a boat or a flight.

How do I get to El Nido from an island resort in Taytay Bay?

In two legs. The resorts off the Taytay coast, including Apulit Island, are reached by boat from the mainland rather than by road, so you come ashore first and the transfer to El Nido starts at the jetty. Tell us the crossing you are booked on and the vehicle is timed to meet it.

Can I stop in Taytay on the way from Puerto Princesa to El Nido?

Yes, and it is usually the better way to see it. Taytay sits on the highway between the two, so Fuerza de Santa Isabel — begun in 1667 and completed in 1738 — can be a break in a transfer you were already taking rather than a separate trip. Ask for it when you request the quote and it is built into one itinerary.

Can you meet a flight at Taytay Airport?

Yes. Taytay has its own airfield, Cesar Lim Rodriguez Airport (IATA: RZP) in Barangay Sandoval, owned by the Province of Palawan, and we quote pickups there through to El Nido. If you are flying into El Nido itself that is Lio Airport (ENI) — include the code with your flight so we quote the right end of the corridor.

Can we do the trip the other way, El Nido to Taytay?

Yes. We quote the southbound leg either as a one-way transfer or as a day trip from an El Nido base, with the driver waiting while you visit the fort and the old provincial capital, then returning north the same day.
