Coron town is on Busuanga Island in the Calamian Islands, in the north of Palawan province. There is no road connection to mainland Palawan — the crossing is by air or by sea.
Air access is through Francisco B. Reyes Airport (USU) in Busuanga; the town is served overland from there.
Coron Island is a separate island south of the town and is the ancestral domain of the Tagbanwa people. Kayangan Lake and Barracuda Lake are both on it, reached by boat and a short climb.
Coron Bay holds a group of Japanese vessels sunk during a United States air raid in September 1944, which is why the area is known internationally for wreck diving.
Twin Lagoon, Siete Pecados and the Calamianes beaches are all boat days out of Coron town rather than road trips.
