Puerto Princesa to Honda Bay

Puerto Princesa Honda Bay (Sta. Lourdes wharf)

A Honda Bay day is two trips, not one. The island hopping happens on a boat from the wharf, but before any of that you have to get out of Puerto Princesa and up the coast to Barangay Sta. Lourdes — and then back again, tired and salty, at the end of the day. Booking that road leg privately means one vehicle held for your group all day rather than a tricycle negotiation in each direction.

Traditional outrigger boats on clear blue water off the Palawan coast.

Plan the route correctly

  • Honda Bay lies on Puerto Princesa’s mid-eastern coast, north of the city proper, so the wharf run is a city-to-coast drive within the same city boundaries.
  • Sta. Lourdes wharf — also signposted as Honda Bay wharf — is the official departure point, where boat registration and fees are handled before you board.
  • The road transfer and the boat are separate arrangements: we quote the vehicle, and the bay crossing is run by licensed local boat operators at the wharf.
  • Which islands and sandbars are reachable on a given day depends on local access and conditions, so the wharf side of the day is not fixed in advance.
  • Honda Bay is a different day and a different coast from the Underground River at Sabang, which departs west from Puerto Princesa — the two do not combine into one outing.
  • Say whether you are starting from a city hotel, a resort outside the centre or straight off a flight at Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS), because those are three different pickup points.

What your quote can cover

  • Private vehicle sized for your group, day bags and beach gear
  • Hotel, resort or PPS airport pickup at the time confirmed in writing
  • Drop-off at Sta. Lourdes wharf for your boat departure
  • The return leg from the wharf after the boats come back
  • The Honda Bay boat day arranged alongside it through a licensed local operator

We publish route guidance, not generic fares or timings. Your quote is based on the actual date, pickup, accommodation, passenger count, luggage and vehicle needed.

Puerto Princesa to Honda Bay (Sta. Lourdes wharf): common questions

Does this include the Honda Bay island hopping?

The road legs are what we quote: your hotel or the airport out to Sta. Lourdes wharf, and the return after the boats come back. The bay crossing itself is run by licensed local boat operators at the wharf and can be arranged alongside the vehicle.

Where do the Honda Bay boats leave from?

Sta. Lourdes wharf, also signposted as Honda Bay wharf, on Puerto Princesa’s mid-eastern coast north of the city proper. Boat registration and fees are handled there before you board.

Can I combine Honda Bay with the Underground River in one day?

No — they are different days on different coasts. Honda Bay is north-east of the city, while the Underground River departs west towards Sabang. Each needs its own transfer.

Do I have to arrange the ride back separately?

No. The return leg is part of the same quote, with the vehicle held for your group for the day rather than leaving you to negotiate a ride at the wharf at the end of a long day.

Anything specific to your dates, group or pickup point is answered on the quote — that is where the actual vehicle, timing and fixed all-in price come from.
